I recently purchased a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle and am having a ball solving it. I used to love jigsaw puzzles as a child. I told my mom, in all my enthusiasm one evening that I am doing a jigsaw puzzle, to which she replied: ‘you still play with toys you used to play with when you were a kid!’. I was laughing, for a long time afterward thinking about how genuinely concerned my mom was at me ‘still’ playing with my childhood toys. I didn’t tell her its a huge puzzle and is quite tedious to solve it. šŸ™‚

Anyways, as I was saying, I am having absolute fun ‘playing with it’. There is something very therapeutic and comforting about fitting the pieces and finding a lost piece to see your puzzle close to completion. I feels right and soothing that the small, random pieces sprung about the room are finding their pre-destined places on the board. I am thinking whether it has something to do with life? It is often said that life itself is like a jigsaw puzzle.. and it is our role to just fit in the pieces. And when the time comes, all the pieces fall in their right place?! I am not sure how much I agree to this. Because, I have seen some jigsaw puzzles of life left incomplete, unfinished, or with the pieces all in the wrong places. But then, do I even know this for certain? What if those jigsaw puzzles were nasty ones. Meant to look unfinished, nasty, with unhappy endings on completion. I dont know. I was thinking about all this while doing the puzzle. My mind was actually wandering in all possible directions while I searched for the missing piece. Hoping to place it where it was meant to be…
